Europe Direct and the EEN Balears Network (Enterprise Europe Network) are organizing the Artificial Intelligence: the Legal Framework in Europe session on December 2nd, at the Arxiu del Regne de Mallorca (Carrer Ramon Llull, 3, Palma), from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. This event aims to analyze the challenges and requirements of the new European Artificial Intelligence Regulation, a framework designed to ensure the responsible and safe use of AI technologies.

With the support of the Directorate General for Innovation and Digital Transformation and the Directorate General for Institutional Relations and Relations with Parliament, the session will be opened by regional authorities. The main objectives and practical implications of this regulation for companies and developers will then be presented virtually.

The event will feature a round table moderated by an artificial intelligence expert from the University of the Balearic Islands, bringing together prominent professionals to discuss legal, ethical, and practical aspects of the regulation, as well as its impact on tech companies and technical challenges.

The session will conclude with a presentation of European funding support services by the Bit Foundation, followed by closing remarks from institutional representatives.

This event provides a unique opportunity for professionals and experts in technology, regulation, and ethics to prepare companies to meet rigorous standards for safety, transparency, and respect for fundamental rights.
