On Tuesday, September 16, a meeting will be held between researchers from the UIB and companies from the Balearic Marine Cluster, as part of the UIB-Cluster Meeting series. This cluster is made up of key companies in the nautical sector in the Balearic Islands and may be of interest to researchers working on projects related to the circular economy and waste management.

The aim of the meeting is to explore different ways in which companies can collaborate with UIB research groups, through the OTRI.

• 10:30-10:40 h – Institutional Welcome
  • Lorenza Carrasco, Vice-Rector for Innovation and Digital Transformation at UIB.
  • Guillermo García, President of the BMC.
• 10:40–11:20 h – Exploring Possible Collaborations with the University
  • Gabriela Dinkova, Head of the Business Collaboration Service.
  • Presentation of collaboration opportunities with UIB research groups.
• 11:20–12:00 h – Open Innovation Space: Cluster Business Challenges
  • Representatives of companies associated with the Balearic Marine Cluster will briefly share their main challenges and innovation needs in the areas of circular economy, sustainability, and waste management.
  • Objective: to identify opportunities for collaboration with UIB research groups.
  • Confirmed companies:

    • Alcudiamar – Ignacio Ramos - Communications and Marketing Manager.
    • Garau Ingenieros – Carlos Mahíllo, Business Development Director.
• 12:00–12:30 h – Presentations by UIB Research Groups Project presentations by research groups (maximum 5 minutes per presentation).
• 12:30–12:40 h – Q&A Session
• 12:40–13:00 h – Networking Aperitif.
  • An informal space for direct exchange between researchers and companies.

The meeting will take place in the Auditorium (Sala de Actos) of the Sa Riera building.

Some of the companies currently part of the cluster include: Adalmo, Alcudiamar, Astilleros de Mallorca, Grupo Baeza, Nautipaints, Yachting Spain, ENAVAL, Easypier, Jaumevermell Náutica, Soft Interior, Nautiel Service, MEDVOLT Marine, Port Adriano, Metarina, BWA Yachting, Garau Ingenieros, among others.
