Aid for export SMEs outside the EU

Small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to export outside the European Union can already apply for aid of up to EUR 20 000 for international certification of their products and services.

The deadline for processing applications is 30 September at 2 p.m.

This line of aid for International Certification is included in the programme "Mentoring and Supporting Internationalisation" launched by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, as a collaborative entity of the Secretariat of State for Trade. The Program is funded by the Next Generation Fund through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The beneficiary company will be able to receive up to 20,000 out of a maximum budget of 25,000, to finance the following expenses:

  • Consultation associated with certification.
  • Shipping costs, refunds and/or sample destruction.
  • Cost of laboratory trials (in Spain or at destination).
  • Issue of certification/homology.
  • Cost of conducting audits.
  • Certificate renewal/maintenance costs, although they will be priority in terms of support, first-year certifications.
  • Translation and legalisation of documents.
  • In addition, the costs arising from the certification process for projects already initiated or completed will be eligible for co-finance, provided that these have been carried out from 1 January 2023.

Aid can be applied through the electronic headquarters of the Spanish Chamber, provided the following requirements are met:

  • To be a SMEs according to the definition contained in Annex 1 to Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 with a turnover of more than EUR 1 million.
  • Have product, service or own brand.
  • Be an exporting company only if a voluntary certification is requested.
  • To comply with the requirements required in Article 13 of the General Law on Grants 38/2003, of 17 November.
  • Comply with the de minimis rule required by the European Union (EU Regulation No 1407/2013 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the EU Treaty to de minimis aid).
  • Do not have the consideration of a company in crisis, as provided for in Regulation 651/2017, of 17 June 2014.
  • Mentoring and Internationalization Support Program

International Certification aid is the main line of action under the 'Mentoring and Support for Internationalisation' programme, which aims to encourage the opening up of new markets or improve the external positioning of exporting SMEs.
