The Directorate-General for Agriculture of the European Commission has announced a High-Level Mission of Commissioner Hansen to Japan, scheduled from June 8 to 13, 2025.

The Commissioner wishes to include in his business delegation companies from all EU Member States, particularly SMEs with a credible export capacity, but also large companies, including European and national producer associations from key sectors. These may include, for example, meat (beef, pork, and poultry), processed agricultural products, dairy products (with special attention to cheese), wine, beer and spirits, olive oil, fruits, and vegetables. Commissioner Hansen will be accompanied by a delegation of up to 100 high-level representatives from individual companies/European producer organizations in the agri-food sector.

This trip will combine official meetings between the Commissioner and relevant government counterparts with promotional activities attended by the business delegation. These activities will include seminars on local market characteristics and consumer trends, visits to retail stores and facilities, and networking opportunities. The mission will also include a day at the Expo 2025 Osaka, where the EU will have a pavilion, and the Commissioner will inaugurate a high-level event to which business delegates are invited.

Companies must express their interest by February 9 via the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/HLM_Japan_2025.
