The AI Office has launched new funding opportunities to support the development and application of AI technologies

tecnologia een

This initiative focuses on three priority areas: health, energy, and reconstruction, and is part of the EU's broader effort to harness AI for the public good and deliver tangible public value, both in Europe and globally.

AI for Health

The application of AI has the potential to enhance cancer imaging systems. This priority area will support the training, fine-tuning, and testing of AI models on cancer imaging, focusing on breast and prostate cancer. This approach will demonstrate how AI solutions based on EU data can be adapted for use across diverse settings and populations, without transferring sensitive health data, leading to meaningful clinical breakthroughs.

AI for Energy

AI can accelerate the global transition toward a sustainable and resilient power grid. This priority area will develop and validate AI-based solutions that enable the seamless integration of renewable energy sources at all levels of the energy system. Building on EU research and following trials at European sites, these solutions can be adapted for application in resource-constrained environments, helping to accelerate a more sustainable and resilient energy transition worldwide.

AI for Reconstruction

Municipal authorities can enhance reconstruction efforts through the use of AI. This priority area will develop a local AI-powered digital twin to assess damage, simulate reconstruction scenarios, estimate costs, and monitor progress and deviations. The aim is to help local authorities and communities plan and implement post-disaster reconstruction in a more transparent, accountable, and fraud-resistant manner.

These new funding opportunities are now open, and we invite groups of interested organisations to submit their proposals, combining technical excellence with a strong commitment to social impact, collaboration, and openness.
